The Lakehouse

The Lake House Hotel, in Saylorsburg, Pa, is a Victorian Era Pocono Mountain retreat that has been closed as a hotel resort for more than 50 years now. In it’s early existence it was a mere stage coach stop, but after it’s large expansion around the turn of the century it became a popular hotel for folk coming to play in the Poconos from the metropolitan areas of New York City and Philadelphia. In its hay day the Lake House Hotel was booked a year in advance for the basic enjoyment of picnicking, swimming, and wooden swan boat rides at the local Saylors Lake.
